A 1-DAY STAKEHOLDERS’ SENSITISATION AND CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP ON ACCREDITATION TO ISO 15189:2012 (MEDICAL TESTING LABORATORIES) IN ENUGU ON 24TH JUNE,2019.

In collaboration with Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), NiNAS is organising a one-day stakeholders’ sensitisation and capacity building workshop on ISO 15189 standard on June 24th 2019. ISO 15189:2012 Medical laboratories – Requirements for quality and competence can be used by medical laboratories in developing their quality management systems and assessing their own competence. It can also be used for confirming or recognising the competence of medical laboratories by laboratory customers, regulatory authorities and accreditation bodies.

BENEFITS OF THIS STAKEHOLDER FORUM:
The stakeholders’ forum will afford the participants the opportunity to discover the numerous benefits associated with the accreditation of their medical laboratories, including, but not limited to the improvement of the quality of their services as well as returns on investment. In addition, the forum will address the following issues:
 How MLSCN is working with NiNAS to strengthen the accreditation system for medical laboratories in Nigeria.
 The NiNAS accreditation process with respect to ISO 15189 standard;
 NiNAS assessor training programme; and
 The process of qualifying as NiNAS assessor in medical laboratory accreditation.

A 3-DAY ASSESSOR TRAINING COURSE ON ISO 15189 (MEDICAL TESTING LABORATORIES) IN ENUGU FROM 25TH – 27TH JUNE, 2019.

In collaboration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), NiNAS is organising a three-day assessor training programme on ISO 15189 standard from June 25th to 27th June, 2019. ISO 15189:2012 Medical laboratories – Requirements for quality and competence can be used by medical laboratories in developing their quality management systems and assessing their own competence. It can also be used for confirming or recognising the competence of medical laboratories by laboratory customers, regulatory authorities and accreditation bodies.

BENEFITS OF THIS ASSESSOR TRAINING:
The assessors training course will enable the delegates gain knowledge of the particular requirements for competence in medical laboratories clinical services, as defined in the ISO 15189:2012 standard, and used as the criteria for accreditation. Participants will also gain a practical understanding of the assessment methodology used by the Nigeria National Accreditation Service, NiNAS in line with requirements of International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation, ILAC and African Accreditation Cooperation, AFRAC. The course will be delivered through a combination of lectures, exercises and role play.
