Nigeria National Accreditation Service (NiNAS) paid a courtesy visit to the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA) on Thursday, 6th December, 2018. The purpose of the visit was to clarify the role of NiNAS in the NQI system and find areas of collaboration with NABDA. At the end of the meeting, both organisations were happy and willing to collaborate in moving the National Quality Infrastructure forward and by extension adding value to Nigerian products and services which will in turn improve the Nigerian Economy.

Nigeria National Accreditation Service (NiNAS) held its 2nd joint BOT, BOD and AAC meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, 5th December, 2018. The members who came from different parts of the country to attend the meeting expressed appreciation for the progress NiNAS has made withing a short period of time and promised to work with NiNAS management in moving the organisation forward.

Nigeria National Accreditation Service (NiNAS) paid a courtesy visit to the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) on Monday, 3rd December, 2018 which coincided with the 50th anniversary celebration of MLSCN.  The purpose of the visit was to clarify the role of NiNAS in the NQI system and find areas of collaboration with MLSCN. At end of the meeting, both organisations were happy and willing to collaborate in moving the National Quality Infrastructure forward and by extension adding value to Nigerian products and services which will in turn improve the Nigerian Economy.

Mult-Consult Laboratories Limited  and Environmental Accord Nigeria Limited are the latest testing laboratories to be enlisted as NiNAS-accredited laboratories. Both laboratories have been accredited for  ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard based on their corresponding scope of operation.

The Management and staff of NiNAS hereby congratulate both laboratories on the attainment of this enviable feat. The attainment of accreditation by these laboratories has brought the total number of accredited laboratories by NiNAS to ten. This is a step in the right direction for the Nigerian economy.

After decades of groundbreaking laboratory work, the world’s scientific and technical community is about to redefine four of the seven base units for the International System of Units (SI). A vote to adopt the change is slated for November 16, 2018, at Versailles, France. An affirmative vote would mean the kilogram (mass), kelvin (temperature), ampere (electric current) and mole (amount of substance) would be determined by fundamental constants of nature rather than by physical objects. This historic change will be the largest single shift in international measurement since the Treaty of the Meter was signed in 1875. IAF-ILAC meetings 2018 Singapore: The IAF/ILAC meetings have been closed with very good and important results. The next annual meeting will be holding in Mexico in April 2019.

IAF-ILAC meetings 2018 Singapore: Representatives from more than 120 #Accreditation Bodies and many stakeholders, including #WTO, #WorldBank, #ISOCASCO, #IEC and #UNIDO, attended the Joint General Assembly.

NiNAS CEO presented the organisation’s road map during the on-going ILAC-IAF annual meeting in Singapore. The presentation covers the various aspects of NiNAS progress and future plans. The highlight of the presentation was the introduction of the NiNAS ICT infrastructure which includes the use of body cameras by assessors in the field. This will go a long way to ensure transparency and professionalism in the delivery of NiNAS services. All participants at the event were thrilled by the innovation and seek to know more about the functionality of the system.
